Laser Dentistry offered by Roseville Dentist, Dr. Ronny Rasi
Continued improvements to dental technologies and techniques benefit patients by increasing comfort and improving the long-term health following treatment. To provide patients with an exceptional dental experience, Dr. Ronald Rasi offers laser dentistry as a comfortable and convenient way to improve dental care. With laser dentistry, patients can enjoy faster healing and comfortable care in our Roseville dental office.
What is Laser Dentistry?
Laser dentistry uses specific, oral-safe lasers to deliver a concentrated and narrow beam of light energy to a specific spot in the mouth to complete procedures and treat oral health conditions. Depending on the procedure, the laser can be used as a cutting instrument, precisely removing areas of soft tissue or decay or to bond fillings to the tooth.
Laser dentistry has proven to be less invasive than traditional

procedures. The laser cauterizes open blood vessels, minimizing bleeding so patients enjoy a fast, more comfortable recovery. This alternative to traditional treatment tools reduces the amount of time patients spend in the office, and often requires less anesthetic and pain medication.
Laser-Friendly Procedures
Dr. Rasi performs the following BioLase®-assisted procedures at his Roseville dental practice. BioLase® is a multipurpose laser that uses a combination of water, air and laser energy that is effective and allows Dr. Rasi to deliver treatments with minimal discomfort:
Fillings - BioLase® is ideal for fillings as it allows the doctor to clear the infected tooth of diseased material with maximized comfort and in less time than traditional fillings. Approximately half of all fillings performed in our Roseville office don’t require any injections and result in an improved dental experience.
Gum Therapy - Dr. Rasi uses this innovative tool to remove or replace bone and gum tissue through gum therapy procedures such as crown lengthening, gingivectomies, and frenectomies.
Laser Bacterial Reduction – Untreated gum disease can created infected pockets between the teeth and gums. These periodontal pockets are the perfect breeding ground for the bacteria to cause gum inflammation, recession, and even jeopardize the stability of your smile. With the use of the dental laser, our Roseville dentist performs root planing and scaling to effectively remove the bacteria and infected tissue from below the gum line.
Cosmetic Dentistry: Lasers assist in the bonding process during cosmetic treatments such as veneers. Veneers are extremely thin tooth-shaped shells of porcelain that are directly bonded to the surface of the tooth. After cleaning up the gum line, the doctor uses the BioLase® laser to activate the bonding agent. With the use of cosmetic laser dentistry, our Roseville patients enjoy healthy, beautiful smiles.
